Well...sort of.  So crazy to think that my intended "few month" hiatus would last over 3 years...but that be life, I guess.  I'll still have some radio silence as I get back into writing and drawing, and build up some work to put up.  I'm excited to be back among some cool people and awesome artists.

Hello followers and anyone else that stumbles upon this!

Our operations tempo has increased significantly lately and I am prepping me and my guys to return home, so my time to work on my comic has dropped down to about zero.  But, that's the way of it.  So I will be super busy the next month or so with stuff here, getting home, and moving to a new base, but there will be plenty of Tales to tell from Capt EJ and Mewt's adventures!

I am a soldier.  I volunteered to serve and protect the people of my country.  I do not always agree with the decisions of my country's leadership, but the reason I continue to serve is still the same as when I took the oath.  From us out here in far-away lands trying to keep people from entering our country to kill the flock we swore to protect, we are weeping for those we could not; and yet, I find myself filled with pride and hope at the actions taken by my countrymen to protect others, especially our youth.  Our future.

Many call our military, firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, and other public servants heroes for certain actions they take to protect others, however I signed up with full awareness of the risks, as did my brothers and sisters with whom I serve.  While I have seen many acts that are labeled brave and heroic, not a single one of us consider ourselves heroes.  We consider it our job.  We know it is what we must do.  We are protectors of the flock.

The truly heroic and brave are those who have no training for it, and yet when thrust into a position of intense risk, make a choice to give of themselves, give up their personal dreams and goals, so that others may have the opportunity to see theirs come to light.

My service is my calling, my job, and my duty.  I am proud to stand at the gate, ready to do battle to protect the flock.  I am not a hero.  But to those that make the call when they do not have to, you are our heroes.  You are my heroes.  It is you whom I serve.  And I am proud to serve people like you.

Okay, so I have been geeking out all day.  Why, you may ask?

If you need to ask that, then you probably did not read the subject line, me thinks.

I had my first experience with fanart!  The very wonderful did up a great...
no, that doesn't say it well enough...let me try that again.

The very wonderful was actually inspired by my little ol' comic to produce a WONDERFUL piece of work using my OCs!  And I love that, once again, Mewt is given arms and Capt EJ is not.    Absolutely fantastic!  Owlz, you rock  

I'm going to go back to geeking out now.  I might even get some work done today too.



But I doubt it.

Okay, for anyone that has their settings set to get these, or for anyone that stumbles across this on my profile page, as the title mentions I created a group for the Tales of Mewt and Capt EJ!   Yes, I'm very excited.  Mewt and Capt EJ have finally pushed me to do it and they are excited as well.  I've got their Tales going into the Featured folder there and made a Fan Art folder...I'm not exactly sure who is going to do anything fan art related to my little comic, but fortune favors the prepared.  Anywhos, if you enjoy the Tales then watch the group and contribute whatever there is to contribute!
